The Hawaiʻi Native Plant Growers’ Meeting is a USDA Forest Service facilitated, Hawaiʻi nursery guided, meeting for advancing the interests of Hawaiʻi growers’ involved with plant and tree production in nurseries.

The target audience and participants are nursery managers and technicians.

Meetings will rotate between the four largest Hawaiian Islands and meet on an annual basis. We will strive to visit at least one nursery per meeting and have a mixture of presentations and small hui discussions. Please join us as we gather, share knowledge, and learn from one another!

Monday, Feb. 3

1:00pm – Optional Tour of Volcano Rare Plant Facility

 

3:00pm – Optional nursery talk story, protocol writing, reviewing nursery needs. Location TBD

 

6:00pm – Optional group dinner either in Volcano or Hilo
  • Dinner costs covered individually
Tuesday, Feb. 4

Location: Kīlauea Military Camp in the ʻŌhiʻa Room

8:00am – E komo mai/meeting overview, roundtable introductions, breakout groups, two 15-minute presentations

11:30am – Lunch on your own

* highly encourage people to pack a lunch to stay within the 1 hour allocated time, those who pack a lunch can eat picnic together

12:30pm – Breakout groups, two more 15-minute presentations, and a virtual nursery tour

2:15pm – In-person tours of Hawaiʻi Volcanoes National Park nursery and the Three Mountain Alliance Nursery

6:00pm – Optional group dinner either in Volcano Village or Hilo
